Philippians 1:18c-26

  • How has your week been and what are some of the things that took the most time in your daily life?
  • What things did you not have time for that you really wanted to get accomplished?
  • During your busy week, how did you make a spiritual investment in your life, and were you satisfied with that time?
  • In this week’s sermon, it was asked for people to finish this statement, “for me to live is…”; How did you finish that statement and how did you feel about your honest reflection on that challenge?
  • In the sermon it was said, “To live for any temporal thing in this world means when you die you lose everything”; how do you feel about this statement, and how does it help you place things in this world in their proper context in your life?
  • Considering what Paul is facing that we have learned so far in this study, why is it such a powerful statement for him to say: For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21)?
  • Paul truly was ready to die and saw it as gain because he wanted the full presence of Christ, how do you honestly feel about death? Do you fear it or do you see it as gain?
  • When Paul lived Christ, he was able to confidently set aside his desire to go and be with Christ for the sake of the Philippians; How can living for Christ help you to put the desires of others ahead of your own so they might also live for Christ?
  • In the sermon it was explained that to live for Christ we should seek the filling of the Holy Spirit; how do you understand having all the Holy Spirit and being filled with more of the Holy Spirit? If you watched the sermon was the balloon example helpful?
  • Spend some time in prayer asking God to fill you with his Spirit and empower you to live a life fully for Jesus Christ.
