Foster Life is a group in Oswego County NY that seeks to support families involved in foster care While not everyone is able to foster, everyone has a part to play in foster care, what’s your part?
- Do you like to facilitate and organize
- help babysit/mentor/tutor
- do tasks like laundry or yardwork
- intentionally encourage & uplift?
How you can get involved in Foster Life
- volunteer at parents’ night out (1st Saturday of the month, 4-7 at Oswego Alliance Church)
- Provide a meal (one less thing for a family to think about)
- occasional babysitting (give a family a break for an evening)
- respite care (sometimes families need care for their placements a little longer)
- housework or yard work (there is often little time or energy left for these tasks)
- become an adoptive grandparent or aunt/uncle (create a special relationship with kids)
We also would like to recruit more foster families as the need is growing while current foster homes become full or close for various reasons.
